Climaventta Chiller Repair & Maintenance

Our engineers attended the site to carry out essential repairs to a Climaventta chiller (No.1), serving circuits 1 and 2. The unit is located on the main roof (10th floor) of the building.

Following earlier investigations, both circuits had suffered significant refrigerant loss due to faulty components. Circuit 1 required replacement of the suction control valves on both compressors, while Circuit 2 required replacement of the dryer shell plate and dryer cores.

During a prior visit, all remaining refrigerant was safely recovered, and both circuits were pressure tested to identify leak points. Once faults were confirmed, replacement parts were ordered to complete the repair works.

Upon return to the site, our engineers removed the insulation and replaced the faulty suction valves on Circuit 1. New valves were installed with silicone grease applied to sealing rings to ensure correct seating. All fixings were tightened in sequence and torqued to specification.

The system was then pressure tested overnight in accordance with EN378 standards. On inspection the following day, pressure levels remained stable. The circuit was safely depressurised and evacuated to below 2 Torr. After confirming no pressure rise (drop-back), the system was recharged with 200 kg of R134a refrigerant. Insulation was reinstated, and Belimo valve actuators were refitted, configured, and functionally tested.

Circuit 2 underwent the same rigorous process, including overnight pressure testing, evacuation to below 2 Torr, and successful vacuum stability checks. The circuit was then recharged with 125 kg of R134a refrigerant.

Finally, both circuits and compressors were re-enabled via the main controller. The system was tested under operational conditions once sufficient heat load had been established, ensuring full functionality and reliability.
